Literature Text

I don't believe Neliel hated Nnoitra. I don't believe Neliel hates anyone. But I do believe it's obvious she doesn't respect, or like Nnoitra.

Disapproval

Disaprove

Neliel says she doesn't see Nnoitra as warrior. So, he's not worth her time. Why would she be in love with a man she didn't respect. She doesn't see Nnoitra as an equel. While Neliel doesn't hate Nnoitra, neither does she love him.

In this exchange,
Disapproval
Nnoitra has just done something completely within his nature. But, Neliel expresses dissapointment, and disapproval with his actions.

Another example would be this scene.
Disapproval"
Nnoitra does what he sees fit, and he carries his weapon accross his shoulder.Once again, Neliel tells him the behavior isn't acceptable, and to conceal it.

We see alot of flashbacks with Nnoitra. They are Tesla's. He is remembering all the things Nnoitra has told him. He hears Nnoitra talking to Neliel about why he fights. Neliel doesn;t accept anything Nnoitra is telling her. She believes Nnoitra's beliefs make little sense and are demented. And states she won't be dragged down by him.

Once again, Neliel is showing how she sees herself as above Nnoitra, and is expressing more disapproval with him.

So, looking at these previous panels it's obvious, she doesn't love, or even like, Nnoitra the way he is. He is rude, bloodthirsty, and merciless. That's Nnoitra. He is who he is, and Neliel doesn't accept who he is. She has zero respect for whatever it is he's trying to prove, and for his beliefs and behavior.

Neliel would have to become more like Tesla, and accept Nnoitra for who he is, and not who she thinks he should be. She has expressed nothing but annoyance and disappointment with Nnoitra as a whole. His craving to fight w/o what she sees as an acceptable reason, along with his brash and merciless nature. So, either she has to chill out, or Nnoitra has to become a male version of her.

1. Why didn't she kill him?
She isn't going to kill someone she doesn't see as a fellow warrior. Nel is a pascifist. She hates to battle, but she will if she can see reason behind it. If she hates fighting, it's a given she hates killing. But if she's going to kill someone, it has to be someone on her level, and that she respected. Essentially, as she said in earlier panel, he isn't worth it. She thinks she's too good to kill him.

2. Why'd she save him?

Neliel has shown she protected Nnoitra from another Hollow, then she sits and reads, while she waits for him to wake up. If she doesn't love him, why protect him? Well, like Neliel says, Nnoitra is a member of the Espada. They are at war with the Shinigami, and they don't need to lose any comrades.

Nnoitra vs. Ichigo
Currently, Nel has met Ichigo in her child form. But, even after regaining her memories, she still seems to hold her feelings for Ichigo. She faught Nnoitra to protect Ichigo. That alone says who Neliel is closer to loving. Ichigo, thus far, is higher up on Neliel's love list than Nnoitra.

Neliel has just blasted Nnoitra with her signature "Double Cero."

Nnoitra is being blown up in the background, but Nel's reaction is to turn her back on him, and run to hug Ichigo, shouting with glee that she's happy he's not hurt.

True Love
Alot of people believe something was going on with Neliel and Nnoitra, because of this following scene.
stopped
They stop their weapons just shy of killing each other. Some say "Oh they love each other, they don't want to kill each other." Now, I agree they may not want to kill one another. But there are reasons for that other than love, which you can see if you really look at what you know of their characters. For Nel, as said earlier, she doesn't like or approve of violence. If she can just incapacitate Nnoitra, that'd be good for her. Then she could take Ichigo and leave.

Last Glance
glance
People also believe Nel felt something for Nnoitra as she feels sad upon his death. But, look at the way she says his name, "Nnoi...tra?" There's a question mark there. Meaning, her amnesia has started to kick in again, so she only vaguely remembers him. So, that can't be used to prove any kind of love.

Dismissal
We see also that Neliel is very dismissive of Nnoitra.

Nnoitra and Neliel have finished sparring. Neliel dismisses Nnoitra, stated that they're finished and turns to leave.
dismiss
Nnoitra tries to call her back, but Neliel explains she does not, and will not, see him as her equal and that he's no more than a beast. Nnoitra is bleeding and on his knees, but Neliel gives him those harsh words, and turns her back on him, more concerned with going to have lunch.

Again, in this scene, we see Neliel's dismissive attitude of Nnoitra.
practical
She has just helped him against a Hollow. But, she makes no move to help him after that. She sits on a rock and reads, while leaving Nnoitra laying on the ground. Nnoitra wakes and wants to know why Neliel saved him. Neliel comments that she didn't do it for him. She states they don't need to lose an Espada. So, it wasn't personal, it was practical. She wasn't protecting him out of genuine care. It was pity, and a sense of responsibility, for her, as the stronger one of the two.

She gets up from her resting place and once again, turns her back on him to leave him after saying what she has to say, giving Nnoitra no time for rebuttal.
leaving

Neliel has tried to lecture Nnoitra on his behavior. Nnoitra however, doesn't want to hear it. He tells her if she has such a problem with his ways to do something about it. Again, Neliel tells him he's a child, then turns her back to leave with her harsh words, again, giving him no room for argument and ignoring anything he may have had to say afterwards. Seeing as Nnoitra has to repeatedly call after her.

Sexual Attraction
I have heard this as well. Where some think, at the very least that Neliel may not have loved Nnoitra, but that she had a sexual interest and desire for him, and found him arousing. And some with the headcanon they got together to have sex.

As I have proved earlier, she had no respect for Nnoitra, and found nothing of him acceptable. Why would Nnoitra be a sexual interest for her? People say their was something there, as Neliel is a woman, and would have needs. Ok, first off, she has two male Fraccion. If she had sexual needs that needed satisfying, it isn't as though they wouldn't do, and they are crazy about her, loyal to her. She and her Fraccion love one another.

Also, lets take a look at Neliel's Espada uniform shall we.

Look at the way she presents herself. Now, she's full figured. There's no hiding that. But, as we see, she doesn't advertise her body. Her breasts are completely covered. No cleavage. She wears a skirt, but she has pants underneath, concealing her legs. Her collar covers her neck. Heck, she even has her hands covered. There's the saying "If it's not for sale, don't advertise it."

Well, Neliel is honoring that. She doesn't flaunt her body all over the place. So, evidently, she's not selling it, or giving it away. Neliel has shown to be a woman of principle, and conducts her self in a professional manner. I would think Neliel fans would see, and respect, this about her. Instead I see some of them trying to, desperately, pair her off with Nnoitra, be it love, or just saying she was in heat for him.

She sees fighting, and/or killing him as beneath her, being he isn't her equal. If she thinks he's too worthless to even kill, I doubt she's going to undress and lay with him. It's just not happening.

As if she's someone who would take a sex buddy. Look at her thoughts on battle. She feels it's animalistic to do without reason, such as self-defense or protecting someone. So she seems of the notion of not giving into temporary highs, or hedonism. She acts on reason. So I doubt she'd just randomly have sex just for the sake of sex. Given her high principle, she probably finds sex without love to be just hedonism and animalistic.

Now, Neliel was half naked when she fought Nnoitra for the final time, but that wasn't intentional on her part, plus she had more important things to think about, such as protecting her new friends. So, she dealt with it. But, looking at her uniform, if she can help it, she doesn't advertise her body.

Kubo did a photo-shoot sketch with the girls. Rukia, Rangiku, Orihime, and Neliel. All of the girls seem to show themselves consistent with their characters.

Rangiku has always been one to flaunt her body. So she's out in front, posed up and confident. No problem.

Rukia comes from a noble clan, and has always seemed more classy, but still very confident and sure. Conducts herself in regal manner, possibly so as to do nothing shameless that should shame her family, nor herself. So she has her back to the viewers and camera, and is more showing off her coat in an elegant fashion, rather than showing off her body.

Orihime seems more oblivious. She doesn't really intentionally show her boobs, but she can be rather clueless. Like when she starts to undress in front of Uryu, until he stopped her. So she's not really hiding, or flaunting. Just wearing a normal swim suit and taking a pic.

Now to Neliel. She's far to the back, and seems to be a bit embarrassed. She seems the girl the least comfortable with the attention, and is off behind the others. And noticing leg-wear, Rangikuo's attire seems like sexy lingerie really. But Neliel is wearing big green boots. Nothing sexy about that. And she's the only one with her coat hood up.  Rangiku is bold and got the sexy langerie. Rukia is subtle and more on the classy model/fashionable side., Orihime is innocent and weaering a nice bathing suit, and Neliel is more  shy in her attire.
My views on the pairing, or lack of
